What it does

Written against a person

A note, a warning or a commendation, with the date and who wrote it.

Seen and acknowledged

The person it is about reads it and acknowledges it, so nobody can say later they were never told. Changing it afterwards asks again.

Narrower than the reporting line

A record is read by the person it is about, whoever wrote it, administrators, and the readers the company names — not by every manager above.

Every version kept

A change needs a reason. The earlier versions, the reasons and the comments are all kept, so the history stays honest.

Badges beside a name

A year here, five years here — and badges a person awards, kept with who gave them and why.

Fields of your own

New Add the fields your company keeps — badge number, blood type, contract end — and choose who may see each one.

Good to know

  • A record belongs to the company. An endorsement is different: a colleague writes it, and it belongs to the person it is about. See profiles and endorsements.
  • Hours and leave follow the reporting line; records are narrower on purpose.

Questions

Can a manager read their team’s records?

Only the ones they wrote, or all of them if the company names them as a reader. Being somebody’s manager is not enough on its own.

Does the person see what was written?

Yes, always. A record is written for the person it is about to read and acknowledge.
