What it does

Invitations people can answer

A guest from outside gets an email from your own mailbox with Accept and Decline, and the meeting lands in their calendar with its own reminder.

Changes reach everybody

Move a meeting and everybody on it is updated. Take somebody off and they get a cancellation. Save with nothing changed and nothing is sent.

Join from the calendar

A meeting with a call carries Join, in the calendar and in the reminder ten minutes before.

See who is away

Approved leave shows on the days it covers, to the people allowed to see it. Public holidays are already in for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE; a company anywhere else adds its own.

The organiser decides

Only whoever booked a meeting can move or cancel it. Everybody else answers Yes, No or Maybe.

Repeats that keep the hour

A weekly meeting stays at the same hour in the organiser’s time zone, through the clocks changing.

Book a room or a car with the meeting

New Choose “Add a room or car” while you write the meeting, and you are shown only the ones that are free for the whole time — every week of a repeating meeting included. Pick one, and it is yours for that meeting. Move the meeting and the booking moves with it; call it off and the room is free again.

Rooms and cars, and who has them today

New A screen of its own lists everything your company lets people book, and for any day shows who has each one and when, so you can see a free hour before you ask for it. You can also book a van or a projector on its own, with no meeting at all, and cancel it if your plans change.

Good to know

  • The reminder appears in an open Meetowt tab. It is not pushed to a closed phone yet (messages, mail, calls and requests waiting for you are — Meetowt on your phone); a guest from outside is reminded by their own calendar.
  • A guest’s Yes or No arrives in the organiser’s inbox as an email. It is not shown on the meeting yet.
  • Only a meeting’s organiser can invite people from outside the company.
  • New A room or a car can never be booked twice for the same time — the database itself refuses it, even when two people press the button in the same second. If one is taken you are told who has it and when, and a repeating meeting is refused whole, naming the first week that clashes, rather than booked for some weeks and not others. Everybody at the company can see who has a room; a meeting’s booking shows that the room is busy and never what the meeting is called. A room that is in use cannot be removed — switch it off instead, so nobody can book it, and what is already booked is kept.
  • New An administrator, and the people an administrator names, keep the list of rooms and cars. Everybody else can read it and book from it. A company that does not want it can have Meetowt switch the whole part off, and the calendar goes on working without it.
  • New The calendar is in Arabic, too — the month and the week, the editor and the reminders, right to left, with Arabic month and day names, when a person chooses it. More
  • New Your meetings come to the phone’s own Calendar app, and your colleagues to its Contacts, with a phone password made in Mail settings. A meeting you make there is yours alone; one somebody else organised, or one with colleagues or guests on it, is changed here, where the people on it are told. Calendar and contacts on your phone

Questions

Does it work with Google Calendar and Outlook?

For the people you invite, yes: they receive a standard calendar invitation, which Gmail, Outlook and Apple Calendar all draw with Accept and Decline, and later updates move or remove it there too.

Can I see it in the calendar on my phone?

New Yes. An iPhone sets up its Calendar and Contacts in one tap from Mail settings; on Android, DAVx5 or any calendar app that speaks CalDAV takes a server address, your work address and the phone password. How

What does a guest need?

Nothing but an email address. The invitation carries a link that lets them knock at that meeting, and only that one.
